VLogo Chain Shoulder Bag — Black

This is the VLogo Signature idea at its most economical. Where Valentino Garavani's best-known accessories announce themselves with Rockstud pyramids, the VLogo line reduces the house's mark to a single letter derived from its 1970s logo, a program creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli documented in a 2020 art book he curated. Here the V is cast as a chain link and set across the front of the bag, so the logo works as both ornament and clasp. Beside the Locò, which adds a detachable sliding chain and a removable top handle, this small flap bag is plainer: one leather strap, one flap, one metal V.

The body is smooth black calfskin cut as a compact rectangle, about 10 inches wide and 6 inches tall, with a shallow 3-inch depth that keeps it close to the body. The chain-link V sits on the front in an aged gold-tone finish that reads closer to worn-in brass than bright polish. Lift the flap away from the chain and it releases from a magnetic snap, with no turn-lock or buckle to manage. Inside, the lining is leather and a single zippered pocket holds the small things. Protective feet on the base keep the leather off the table, and the adjustable leather strap runs about 20.5 inches. It was made in Italy.

Read it as a hybrid: the proportions of a classic evening flap bag, the minimalism of a 1970s monogram, and the hardware logic of jewelry. The only visible branding is one small piece of metal, so the bag stays quiet until you notice the clasp. It is a logo bag for people who would rather not carry a logo bag. One size.
