Le Anne-Marie Shoulder Bag — Green

Le Anne-Marie entered Saint Laurent's Fall-Winter 2023 collection under Anthony Vaccarello as a clutch given a strap, and press accounts suggest the name nods to Anne-Marie Muñoz, who joined Yves Saint Laurent's studio in 1963 to run it. It is a deliberate departure from the Vaccarello bags built on chain and quilting, like the Loulou: no matelassé, no chain, no oversized monogram, just a flat framed envelope whose vintage kiss-lock reference does the talking. This small version, in glossy green, shrinks the original 29 cm clutch to 21 cm across and trades its soft leathers for a lacquered finish.

The body is a structured rectangle with a clean, boxy profile, finished in a high-gloss green with a polished, lacquered sheen. A subtle sculpted wave relief runs across the lower front panel, and the Saint Laurent Paris logo is embossed discreetly at the base instead of being applied in metal on the face. A framed top closes with a hinged lift-clasp, and inside there is a single slip pocket. A slim adjustable strap sets the carry. The bag was made in Italy and measures 21 cm wide, 17 cm high and 6 cm deep, shallow enough to sit flat against the body.

Read it as a hybrid: a vintage framed evening clutch fitted with a shoulder strap, then dipped in the slick, wet-look gloss of a contemporary accessory rather than the patent leather of its sibling versions.
