Gethsemane Bauhaus Winged Cape Coat — Black, Size IT 40 / US 4

Rick Owens answered the tension of F/W 2021 Gethsemane with shoulders: exaggerated, padded and deliberately aggressive, a stance he described as defiance in the face of threat. This cape coat is that idea at full scale, turning the upper body into a single architectural block.

Heavily padded box shoulders project well past the natural shoulder line and square off at the corners. From them, winged cape panels fold down and fall open at the sides, so the arms pass through rather than into sleeves. A clean V-neckline sits above a concealed front closure, and the straight column body falls to the knee. It was made in Italy by Owenscorp Italia, the house's own production arm, in solid black (color 09).
