Rick Owens built the Cantilever heel into one of the house's most enduring engineering signatures — a sculptural counterbalance that lets the weight sit forward of the foot with no conventional heel breast beneath it. Reworked for F/W 2024 Porterville, the Cantilever 8 Twisted Sandal carries that architecture into a warm-weather register, wrapped in Owens' language of draped, gathered leather rather than the harder silhouettes the house is often known for.

The upper is blister lamb leather, its surface deliberately crackled and uneven so no two skins read quite the same, twisted into a thick strap across the bridge of the foot and a second across the toes, leaving a square, elongated toe exposed. A calf leather footbed and cow leather sole carry through underneath, set on the 8 cm cantilever heel that gives the shoe its lift. Made in Italy.

The cantilever reads as an optical trick — the shoe floating just off true. In Pearl, a pale tone between stone and blush, that trick softens into something wearable well beyond the runway, built to anchor an all-black uniform or stand alone against skin.
