Iride-Print Silk Wrap Blazer — Indigo, Size IT 42 / US 6

Emilio Pucci introduced the Iride print in 1970, a pattern of concentric arches drawn to read like the fractured color of an iris, and for most of its life it lived on caftans, scarves and swimwear: fabric meant to float. Camille Miceli, who presented her first Pucci collection on Capri in 2022, has spent her tenure moving the house's archive prints onto structured pieces, from tweed to puffers to tailoring. This Resort 2023 blazer is that argument at its most direct. It takes a print designed for drape and asks it to hold a lapel.

The jacket is cut entirely from silk in the indigo colorway of the Iride, with the arches placed so they run across the body rather than repeating in flat tiles. Notched lapels frame the front, which wraps off-center and fastens with a buckle and tie instead of buttons, so the closure sits at the side of the waist and the hem falls away in a curve. A welt pocket sits at the chest and two flap pockets at the hips, and the long sleeves close with buttoned cuffs. The silk is lined, which gives the light fabric enough body to keep the shoulder and lapel in shape. Made in Italy.

Read it as a hybrid of the smoking jacket and the beach wrap: the vocabulary of a blazer, the closure of a robe, and a print that belongs on the Riviera. It works over a white shirt as easily as over swimwear, because the cut is disciplined enough to carry a pattern this loud. Pucci treats the print as the architecture and the tailoring as the frame.
