The 5AC is Maison Margiela's defining contemporary bag, and this version pushes it somewhere the house's conceptual instincts have always pointed: toward the object as experiment. Cut in technical Mackintosh fabric, it turns the 5AC into wearable tech — a crossbody with its own light source.
Technical Mackintosh fabric with a soft, flexible structure and water-resistant performance. An integrated LED strip panel runs across the body with a multi-level dimmer and a USB port (external battery sold separately). Waterproof zips close the main compartment and a rear quick-access pocket, the adjustable strap converts between crossbody, belt bag and shoulder wear, and the four white corner stitches mark it as Margiela. Made in Italy.
It is conceptual design that still does a day's work — a bag that reads as a practical crossbody until it lights up. For anyone who collects Margiela for the ideas rather than the logo, it is one of the more genuinely experimental 5AC iterations. One size.
