Loewe began in 1846 as a cooperative of leather craftsmen in Madrid, and nowhere is that origin more literal than in the house's leather ready-to-wear. Most leather trousers are cut close to the leg, borrowing their attitude from the biker and the rock stage. This pair goes the other way: it takes the proportions of a pleated tailored trouser — the shape Loewe usually renders in wool or cotton-silk gabardine — and builds it entirely in lambskin.

The leather is lamb, sourced from Mongolia and cut and finished in Spain, with the light weight and pliable, glove-soft hand that only lambskin gives. That softness is what makes the silhouette possible. Front pleats open from the waistband and release into a full, straight leg that falls and moves with the body instead of holding the stiff shape a heavier calfskin would. Inside, a fine dark twill lining lets the trouser slide on easily and hang cleanly from the waist, so the leather drapes like cloth rather than clinging. In brown, the effect is warmer and less severe than black leather, closer to a suiting trouser than to anything on a motorcycle.

What results is a leather trouser that behaves like a dress trouser — one to wear with a fine-gauge knit, a crisp poplin shirt and a loafer rather than a leather jacket and boots.
