Logo Linen Bermuda Shorts — White, Size M

Jonathan Anderson launched JW Anderson in 2008 and built it on blurring the line between menswear and womenswear, favoring proportion over ornament. These Bermuda shorts are a quieter proposition than the exaggerated knitwear and sculpted silhouettes the house is usually associated with. There is no surface experiment here: the fabric is white linen, the cut is plain, and the only gesture is a pink JW Anderson logo placed where a brand mark rarely goes, on the hem and along the drawstring.

The shorts are cut from white linen in Italy, with a mid-rise elastic waistband that closes with an adjustable tie. The pink logo is woven into the drawstring and into the hem, so the color accent lands at the two points the eye travels between: the knot at the waist and the edge where the leg stops. The leg is wide and falls just below the knee, with an 11.4-inch inseam, an 11-inch opening and a 14.2-inch drop, so the linen hangs away from the body instead of tracking it. Laid flat, the waist measures 16.1 inches and the hip 20.5.

Read it as a hybrid of tailored Bermuda and poolside lounge short: the length and the wide leg come from the suit, the elastic waist and drawstring come from the beach, and the logo is the one detail that says it was designed rather than simply sewn. White linen with a single pink accent keeps it closer to a uniform than a novelty, a short that sits comfortably under a crisp shirt or a heavy sweatshirt. Size M.
