U-Lock Button-Up Shirt — White, Size 39 / M

Givenchy under Matthew Williams was defined by one idea above all: that hardware could carry a house. The U-Lock was his signature — a padlock-shaped fastening run across bags, belts and jewellery through his four years at the house — and here it lands on the most classical garment in the wardrobe: a crisp white cotton shirt, entirely straight-faced, interrupted by a piece of industrial jewellery.
The body is 100% cotton, made in Portugal, cut short-sleeved and squared through the chest. It measures 23½ inches pit to pit against a 27¾-inch length, with the sleeve running 17¼ inches from the neck point — a full, boxy shape that wears larger than a collar 39 suggests. The U-Lock hardware provides the entirety of the statement; everything else is deliberately quiet.
For the collector, this is a compact piece of a short, sharply defined chapter at Givenchy: four years in which the house was rebuilt around hardware, now closed. The kind of thing that reads quiet on the hanger and obvious to anyone who knows.
