The Piece

Christian Dior's eyewear under John Galliano remains some of the most collectible the house has ever produced, and the Overshine 1 is the line at full wattage — an oversized black shield that wraps the face in one uninterrupted gesture, glamour and armor at once. Part of the 2000s archive that's being rediscovered piece by piece, it sits in the same family as the Ski and Golf frames the era is now hunted for.
The frame is black acetate, cut to a dramatic 140mm width with deep 55mm lenses in black-on-black, made in Italy with the substance the Galliano-era frames are known for. The temple carries the model engraving — Overshine 1 — and the pair is preserved in very good vintage condition, with light marks on the left temple shown honestly in the photos and clean lenses throughout.
This is an archive statement for the collector who already chases the era: the biggest silhouette in the Galliano Dior eyewear canon, in its most wearable colorway. Acquired, authenticated, and ready.
